Holy Cross School, Agartala is a co-education day school located in Durjoynagar, Agartala, Tripura, India. Pre-school, primary, middle and secondary.
The Sacred Heart block is the newer and smaller of the two campuses. It opened in September 1998 with more than 500 students and has grown into a school of 2500 students. Sacred Heart has a chapel on the ground floor. This purpose-built campus, occupying a prominent position within the community, has spacious, light rooms with an emphasis on creating an optimal learning environment to stimulate all the students. The Sacred Block's middle floor, with its walkways and passages leading to the upper grounds of the campus, is home to a well-resourced library and multi-media centre, seating areas, and open areas for activities and exhibitions. This is the first campus, within Tripura, to offer ICSE in the curriculum. Great care has been taken to integrate the building with the environment. Many of the classrooms offer exceptional views to the wooded areas behind and in front.It has all the appropriate facilities for educating young children in a bright and stimulating environment.It is accredited by CISCE.
From age five, the school provides a stimulating and varied academic programme in English(first language), Hindi/Bengali(second language) and Sanskrit/Lower Hindi (Third language). The aim is to develop the full academic and personal potential of each student. This experience is shared with 2500 students representing the wide cultural and linguistic diversity of our school.
The campus comprises a main building and a sports centre on a site of 1.5 hectares. Students enjoy a wide range of facilities including the Multimedia Centre, theatre, science and language laboratories, art and music studios and hostel. They also offer a transport service.
Work on the new sports centre is progressing. Started in July 2000, completion is expected in Autumn 2010. It will have one large gymnasium (300 m2) as well as multisports room (310 m2). At the same time, the administrative process for a new primary school has begun through a long term strategic plan.
